Project Overview

It’s finally time!! After all the lingering Covid restrictions, we are heading over to Haapai. The solar system arrived in the village late last year and it is now sitting safely waiting for our arrival.
We would love your support for this unique and amazing village community that sits within 500 hectares of one of the last remaining virgin rainforests in the Pacific Region. Aside from the installation of the solar, we are helping the village to raise funds for school supplies, more building materials and assistance protecting the rainforest from illegal logging.

We are offering two groups of up to 5 people a once in a lifetime experience to sail or fly over with us to help with this project. We depart in April and would love you to join us. Further information, please contact us via or contact form.

Project objectives

The primary objective of this trip is to install the solar system, which will provide reliable electricity for the school and eventually even access to technologies such as computers and other modern learning tools once Starlink becomes available in the area.

In addition to the solar system, we are also working with the village to raise funds to directly support the school with equipment, learning material and whatever else is required for the school to operate.

The village sits on the edge of the Roviana Lagoon, with 500 hectares of virgin forest as its back drop. Unfortunately both the rainforest and the lagoon are threatened by illegal logging and fishing activities, activities that largely unregulated and or un policed . The village is vitally aware of the important e of this natural resource, which has supported their way of life for thousands of years.

We have been asked to help support the village and the natural environment that surrounds it through the production of a film to showcase and highlight the importance of the unique area. During our visit we will film a pilot and begin planning a return visit to carry our the filming for the feature length version of this story.
